The foundations of Elvan Group were laid in a small candy store in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul in 1952. This small candy store, which was opened by the chocolate artisan Ahmet Hamdi Kadiroğlu and his son Mustafa who earned money from selling candies on trains since he was a little boy, grew rapidly by combining their mastership in production with their ability in sales. First, it became a production atelier, then today it turned into a chain of factories. Elvan Group, producing a wide range of products from chocolate to wafer, candy to jelly, cakes to croissants, waffle to biscuits, beverages and marketing these products globally, has been continuing its journey in a determined way to be placed on the top of the list of Global Top 100 Candy Companies which lists the world’s leading confectionery companies. Elvan Group provides employment opportunity to approximately 2500 people in factories located in Turkey and Egypt.
Providing procurement of raw materials through the company entitled Element Gıda, Elvan Group produces demineralized whey powder and milk powder with the company entitled Cici Süt and keeps developing the latest technologies needed for production with the company entitled Ahmet Hamdi Makine.
While Elvan Group has been gearing up with new investments and new purchases, it offers the brands of Cici, ANL and Elvan with Intersweet Trade Company worldwide and with Cici Trade Company to Turkey which provides “accessibility to quality products” for people from all social strata from children to adults. Intersweet, the export company of Elvan Group, has succeeded to be the export champion of its sector and has been rewarded by Istanbul Exporters’ Association.
Founding the first R&D center in Turkish food sector, Elvan has broadened the horizons for confectionery and it meets the young generations with Elvan Intelligence Club, to children in order to develop their creativity and innovative skills; thus being first in the world of Turkish companies, by introducing innovation. Moreover, Mustafa Kadiroğlu encourages and rewards the child innovation with World Child Innovation Awards.
Honored with the innovation award by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in 2013 and being rewarded with R&D Leaders’ Award in its sector by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology since 2015, Elvan has proved its being on the right road.
